  • Take me from Indianapolis to Bangkok with ANA for $902 in March! You should pick me because Thailand is my favorite place on Earth to visit. We were only able to go for a week last time, though we met several wonderful people. We would love to go back and visit, as well as make it to Chaing Mai this time, and visit one of the Cafes I missed out last time.

Reason I want to go to Thailand: I purchased the South East Asia Lonely Planet book 3 years ago so I could research Thailand and all it has to offer. It has been on my bucket list ever since the travel bug bit me. I’m seriously itching to experience a full moon party!!!

Why you should choose me: I’ve always wanted to go on a trip with my best friend. We’ve just never had the time or extra money to plan it into our schedules. We also live on opposite sides of the country which also makes it difficult to get any real planning done. The free airfare would totally lessen that burden and make our dream a reality. I hope I win so we can attend our first full moon party together and then share our experience with Hopscotch the Globe afterwards!

I would love to win this chance to travel to Thailand and take a much needed vacation after working two jobs, owning a home and paying for university. Since my dads passing, I have tried to do the “responsible” things – buy a house, pay for higher education and I have worked two jobs for the last three years busting my tail off to make ends meet. Although I am grateful for all the things I do have thanks to all the hard work I have been doing – I think it is time to take a break and see other parts of the world. Life is short and we shouldn’t let ourselves miss out on experiences and opportunities and I feel like I have been doing that since I have been on my own. Work over play is not good at all and I think this trip will bring some much needed balance into my life.

Hi Kristen and Siya of Hopscotch the Globe, I have 10 reasons why I want to visit Thailand and I am confident that you will pick me as the winner! I claim it! 🙂

For just $315 (or $630 for two pax), I will be able to visit Thailand! Thanks to Skyscanner\’s search engine, I can find cheap airline tickets fast and easy! 😀

So without further adieu, I will now be stating my 10 H.O.P.S.C.O.T.C.H. reasons to visit Thailand and why these will make me a deserving winner of a trip for two to Thailand!!! 😉

[H]appy country – Thailand is also known as the Land of Smiles and I want to enjoy the vibrancy of Thailand’s night markets, party-themed atmosphere of its festivals and the country\’s friendly people. These will definitely put a smile on our faces!

[O]n board a long-tailed boat – A visit to Bangkok will never be complete without a Damnoen Saduak floating market tour.

[P]ostcard – Thailand is a living postcard with a magical land full of enthralling magnetism because of its picturesque locations.

[S]ea, sand, and sun – In Thailand, I don’t need a lot of frills to have a beautiful beach photo. It will be effortless to capture a stunning photo with a beautiful backdrop courtesy of Thailand\’s tropical beaches, sunset/sunrise and white sands.

[C]heap finds – I\’m bringing an empty suitcase and look for cheap items to blow my cash on.

[O]versized cuties – I\’ve always wanted to see a real elephant. Maybe not ride on it but just be amazed how a colossal specie can be gentle and adorable. It\’s really great to know how people live in harmony with these gentle giants.

[T]hai cuisine – I\’d love to try and enjoy the astoundingly diverse authentic taste of Thai street food and other Thai gastronomical delights.

[C]ultural immersion – I\’d like to meet Thais, ask \’em questions, and learn more about each culture’s nuances and peculiarities.

    [H]ashtagging – I can\’t wait to share my amazing experiences in Thailand by uploading photos and videos on all my social media accounts with hashtags #Thailand #Bangkok #Krabi #Phuket #ChangMai #Pattaya #KohSamui #Thai #LandOfSmiles #KringMackysTravels #Sea #Sun #Sand.

Lastly, I\’ve never been to Thailand and this will be the perfect gift for me because October is my birth month! 😉

I\’m pretty sure Thailand has something to offer for everyone like tropical islands, ancient and historical sites, hill tribes, shopping centers, and Buddhist temples. Indeed, Thailand is Thailove! <3 (y) 🙂

Hi Kristen and Siya! My first time on an airplane was in 2014 when I went to South Korea to teach English for the summer; little did I know how much that summer abroad was going to change my life. I got to experience so much from a different culture, try new food, learn to navigate the challenges of being in a country where you don’t speak the language, while at the same time getting to know this cute English teacher in the summer program, my boyfriend Blake. I’m a hopeless romantic and have so many wonderful memories of our time in Korea like his flirtatious attempts, our first hand-holding in Itaewon, exploring the city, visiting Seoul tower together, our failed attempts at trying to work an umbrella (we’re both from Arizona, what is rain?). Ever since we returned to the States we have both wanted to go traveling again, but as a recent college grad funds are limited. Our two year anniversary is coming up on September 1st, and there would be no better way to celebrate it than finding out we got to go back to Asia and explore a new country, Thailand, to create more wonderful memories together!

I would take my sister with me because well with the big family she has, she deserves a big trip like this. She’s done so much for me this would be the greatest surprise. Thailand has been one of my top places to travel to for one soul reason, the elephants. Ever since I was little my mom had a bundle of elephants all over the house believing they represented good luck and since then my love has grown for them. These creatures are so unique and beautiful I’m so interested in the way their minds work and passionate about saving their lives. I know I’m taking a big shot there but since I’ve been able to I’ve educated myself on the cruelty they go through for the soul purpose of entertainment for tourists or the pain of being poached for ivory, meats, and body parts. This is something I want to help stop. About 100 die each day and in the past decade the numbers of elephants have dropped by 62% and could be extinct in the next decade to come. I hope this day never comes. My dream is to visit Thailand, spend some time volunteering at a sanctuary and care for these guys. I actually adopted an elephant through the sheldrickwildlifetrust (pssst anyone reading this, look into it) and that fills my heart with warmth I’m able to help an elephant out! But to actually be right in front of one and spend time with them, that right there would leave me utterly speechless. Don’t get me wrong there’s so much more to Thailand than the elephants, there’s the food and the culture that comes along with it, but to be able to travel to this place and have this dream come true no words could explain how happy I would be. I apologize for the long comment I get carried away when it comes to talking about something I love, I could go on some more but I’ll leave it at that. I appreciate the opportunity and thank you for the chance. Chok dee to all! 🙂

My friend and should be the winner of this contest because, like you, we are avid travellers out to see the sacred most cracks of the earth. We love people, exploring cultures, sharing our smiles and spreading happiness wherever we go. We don’t just want to see the sights but we want to share our experiences with the locals. When people come to our area to explore and see things for the first time we always see ourselves at an advantage because we get to see our area through their eyes which allows us a whole new perspective. We like to give back this experience when we travel.
