One Way I Can Afford to Travel Frequently

Reading Time: 2 minutes

If you’re reading this blog post than you’re either a traveller or seriously considering booking that plane ticket to that destination you’ve been dreaming of for years. Whichever category you fall into, we all have the same thing in common…a strong desire to explore the world.

One of the most common questions I get asked is “how can I afford to travel so frequently?” While there are several answers to this question, one of them is by collecting reward miles. Enter…Air Miles!

How can you earn as many Air Miles as possible?

AIR MILES Collector Card

I have been earning miles using my AIR MILES Collectors Card for quite some time now. In case you’re not sure what an AIR MILES Collectors Card is, it allows you to earn reward miles for each purchase at AIR MILES Sponsors. You can then use those reward miles towards booking a flight, hotels, shows, restaurants and much more.

If you’re an avid AIR MILES Collector like myself, you want to be able to earn even more AIR MILES, not just at Sponsors. American Express has created the suite of AIR MILES credit cards to let you effectively earn AIR MILES in your day-to-day shopping. That means that your everyday purchases such as groceries or daily cup of coffee can help you get one step closer to taking that trip you’ve always wanted to take.

While the AIR MILES Collectors Card is great, you’re only earning half the reward that you could be earning. How? When shopping at AIR MILES Sponsors, you’re able to use both your American Express AIR MILES Credit Card and the Collectors card together allowing you to earn even more AIR MILES at Sponsors.

The way I see it is we spend money every day, yet we find it difficult to find ways to save up for that big trip. Carrying a card like the American Express AIR MILES Credit Card will help you save up for your dream trip just by living how you always have. You don’t need a money jar set aside (although this also helps), you just go about living your life paying for your daily expenses as usual, all while getting one step closer to boarding that flight to a far-away place.

Disclaimer: I was approached by Amex to share about their AIR MILES Credit Card. As a Amex AIR MILES Credit Card owner and someone who religiously collects AIR MILES, I knew partnering them would be a great fit. Therefore, this post was sponsored by Amex Bank of Canada, but all views and opinions expressed in this blog are purely my own.

Me, too! I definitely make use of collecting points as much and as often as I can. I wouldn't go far from home without them!

It’s a great way to save for travel. You are already spending the money at home on things you normally would, so why not collect points while you do it to put toward travel?! Where did you travel last on your points?
